Who We Are:

Eastside Prep is an independent school located in Kirkland, WA just five miles from Seattle. With 517 students in grades five through twelve, EPS seeks critical thinkers, responsible actors, compassionate leaders, and wise innovators to help us realize our vision and mission. We offer challenging and rewarding career opportunities in a collaborative and supportive environment. Our community of committed creative and passionate people is ideal for those who value integrity and purposeful change. If you're looking for a community that values your individuality and expertise, Eastside Prep may be the right place for you.

Eastside Prep is accepting applications for an Assistant Coach to join us for our 2024-2025 season. Coaches earn a stipend for the season.

Our sculling-focused team includes 8th-12th graders. We are dedicated to teaching student athletes rowing skills and life skills in a safe, fun, supportive environment. We are fortunate to have terrific parent and school engagement.

Assistant Coaches are an essential part of our youth rowing team. Their primary responsibilities are coaching on the water and supporting athletes at regattas. Our coaches are kind, patient, reliable, great communicators, and have a solid understanding of rowing technique. A great candidate will have those qualities, too. All our coaches work closely together.

Hours and location: We row on Lake Union in Seattle. Practice is Monday-Friday 3:30-6:00. Our fall season is late August to early November, including fall regattas on some Sundays. Winter conditioning is optional. Our spring season is late January to mid-May, including some weekend regattas. The past two years, our spring post season has included attending Youth Nationals.

Though coaching experience is preferred, previous coaching experience is not required. If you are just getting into coaching - welcome! On this team you will have great support and will need a willingness to learn and grow your coaching skills every day.
