Position Summary

The role of the Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical Services Supervisor reports to the Director of Surgical Services. This position is responsible for direct oversight and coordination of staff, anesthesia and ensure all necessary supplies and technologies are available for scheduled, urgent board and emergency surgical cases. 

 

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Facilitate communication between interdisciplinary departments and the patients care team to ensure care needs are met
  • Assist staff with patient care and room readiness and case placement when needed
  • Ensure rooms are prepared for surgeries scheduled for each day and proactively plan for the next day to ensure surgical tools and other necessary supplies and/or technologies are available
  • Maintain current knowledge of circulating requirements
  • Assist patient care teams with developing a care plan and continuously assess all components of patient care

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Licensure and Certifications: Arkansas Registered Nurse License and CPR required. ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience: Minimum 1-year experience as a registered nurse in a surgical services environment, required.

Work Environment: This position will spend 100% of work time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will be exposed to communicable diseases. This position will serve a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population.
