Position Summary
The role of the Referral & Prior Authorization Nurse reports to the Clinic Manager. This position is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing referrals and obtaining prior authorizations for medications and procedures/tests.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications and procedures/tests.
- Process and coordinate incoming and outgoing referrals.
- Coordinate patient record to ensure all necessary information is received from internal and external clients.
- Responsible for coordinating and administering vaccines and other clinic-administered injectable medications.
- Assist with nurse triage of patient calls/nursing tasks.
- Assist with scanning, faxing, scheduling appointments, and distributing clinic correspondence.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Licensure and Certifications: RN or LPN license
- Experience: Prefer medical clinic experience and experience processing and administering medications and prescriptions.
Work Environment: This position will spend 20% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling lifting, and/or carrying up to 30 pounds and 80% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
