Position Summary

The role of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor reports to the Training and Development Manager. This position is responsible for providing exceptional quality instruction for both WRMS staff and community members.

 

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Ability to be the primary instructor in at least one of the following disciplines: BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Complete designated documentation as required by the WR AHA Training Center
  • Communicate and remediate students as needed
  • Answer students’ questions in an accurate and appropriate manner

 

 

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED, required. Graduate of an accredited teaching or nursing program, preferred.
  • Licensure and Certifications: Paramedic or Nursing Licensure, preferred; Current AHA BLS Provider or Instructor Certification, required; Current AHA ACLS or PALS Provider or Instructor Certification, preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a medical field with preferred experience in providing education to both lay and medical personnel. Applicants with valid experience or background without a current AHA Instructor Certification will be considered for our ‘Instructor Course Training Program’. This position requires continued education and training as designated by AHA in conjunction with the WR AHA Training Center.

 

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
