Education/Certification: Graduate of an accredited RN program. Current RN licensure in the state of Idaho. Current BLS, ACLS, and TNCC and renewals as required. Complete a Basic Dysrhythmia competency assessment on hire.
Experience: At least 2 years of intermediate care nursing experience prior to eligibility for IMC Clinical Team Lead position. Previous charge nurse experience is preferred.
Equipment/Technology: Basic computer knowledge and able to demonstrate understanding of basic computer documentation systems as needed. Has the ability to learn and teach competency-based education to staff on the unit.
Language/Communication: Has the ability to communicate effectively and clearly with all members of the care team (patients, families, visitors, members of the interdisciplinary team and others).
Mathematical Skills: Knowledge of basic nursing medication calculations and the ability to educate nursing staff regarding medication calculations.
Mental Capabilities: Has the ability to apply the critical thinking process. Able to function in a high stress environment and able to prioritize information related to safe patient care, to treatment plans, and follow-up.
Interpersonal: Has the ability to collaborate within the many different areas necessary but can independently reference essential material. Able to establish good working relationships with those around them. Able to give and receive constructive feedback.
Performance: In addition to the responsibilities of an RN, the Clinical Team Lead must be able to coordinate patient care, demonstrate leadership within the unit, and will participate in additional education related to the team lead role as indicated by the department manager.
