BASIC PURPOSE: Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Direct Care Staff is responsible to ensure quality program delivery and safety of clients during the RISE program in collaboration with team members and external partners.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively with RISE staff on duties that are necessary for program implementation including, but not limited to, providing intense supervision to clients, utilizing appropriate behavioral interventions and co-facilitating groups.
  • Participate as a member of the RISE team including, but not limited to, attending weekly staff meetings, communicating daily with other staff and working effectively and non-defensively with the treatment team.
  • Complete daily documentation as necessary in a timely manner according to program policies and standards.
  • Use appropriate behaviors and positive communication skills when interacting with members in the community as part of the RISE team.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ENVIRONMENT:
Education, Training & Work Experience: Required high school diploma or the equivalent; or (2) years of experience as a primary caregiver to a child with mental illness within the previous ten years. Preferred: holds a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge in mental health interventions and skills training. Candidate must possess knowledge of Trauma Informed Care and be able work with youth using this skill set. Candidate must have the ability to build appropriate rapport with clientele and form age appropriate limits and boundaries.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Normal classroom environment with related indoor and outdoor conditions. Requires use of nonviolent crisis intervention methods.
