BASIC PURPOSE: Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, the Facility Maintenance Specialist provides generalized, basic level support for FCC facilities, grounds and equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and minor construction of FCC Agency facilities in accordance with training and capability. This may include:
    • Drywall installation and repair, painting, minor electrical, HVAC and plumbing.
  • Ice and snow removal at FCC agency facilities to include: 
    • Operation of snow blowers, small tractors, salt spreaders, truck equipped snow plow, and common hand tools associated with this type of activity.
  • Transporting, moving and relocation of furniture, equipment, and any other FCC property as needed.
  • Perform minor maintenance on agency vehicles.
  • Remain current in regard to the required hours of annual staff development. Maintain regular and reliable level of attendance necessary to perform job responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position or as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ENVIRONMENT:

Education, Training and Work Experience: High School diploma or GED. Experience in building maintenance with knowledge and/or training in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and autos. 

Specialized Knowledge & Skills: Basic computer skills, i.e. email, word processing, spreadsheets, and search engine type programs.

Equipment & Applications: Current State of Wisconsin and State of Minnesota valid driver’s license and ability to be insured by FCC auto insurance carrier. Ability to utilize trade tools safely and effectively. Ability to operate light machinery, power tools, and work trucks with trailers attached.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Ability to climb ladders at reasonable heights. Ability to lift objects greater than fifty (50) pounds above your head. May occasionally be exposed to dust, dirt, loud noise, and cleaning chemicals.
