We love Colonial Beach, Virginia! Colonial Beach became an incorporated town in 1892, hence the
name of our business. It flourished as a popular riverside resort location in the early to mid-20 th
century and is now seeing reinvestment and revival. Colonial Beach, once again, is becoming an
attractive place for people to live, work and play. We believe that the time is right for CIRCA 1892, a
gourmet wine and cheese shop, to flourish in Colonial Beach and the Northern Neck of Virginia.
Our past, present, and future are coming together to create an economic, historic, and culturally

Description of CIRCA 1892 Staff
The mission of all CIRCA 1892 staff is to provide our customers with delicious, award-winning,
quality wines, cheeses, food, and gourmet products and to become the preeminent destination for
these products in the Northern Neck. We provide outstanding customer service and measure our
success not in dollars, but in happy customers. We maintain the highest level of professionalism
while making the shopping experience welcoming and fun!
Description of CIRCA 1892 Sales Assistant Position
CIRCA’s 1892 sales assistants work closely with supervisors and customers. They are responsible
for providing superior customer service, enthusiastically promoting our products and services, and
ensuring a safe, clean, and beautiful store, and adhering to ABC and Health Department regulations.
Sales Assistant Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure the store is always clean and beautiful. Follow the Master Cleaning Schedule.
- Prepare food as instructed.
- Display knowledge and enthusiasm about products.
- Ensure all ABC and Health Department requirements are followed.
- Assist with creating displays.
- Stock inventory.
- Attend training/learning opportunities that help promote the business and engage customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
