As the Microsoft D365 F&O Functional Developer of McLane Global, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. This includes creating customizations using X++, building integrations with external systems via REST/OData APIs, developing reports (SSRS, Power BI), Training users on functionality and managing deployments through Lifecycle Services (LCS) and Azure DevOps. The role works closely with business stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure and performance-optimized solutions that align with business requirements and best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications within Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
- Configure standard D365 F&O modules (Finance, Supply Chain, etc.) and design custom solutions where gaps exist.
- Develop and maintain customizations using X++, extensions, Visual studio code and event handlers, following Microsoft best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy enhancements, workflows, forms, and reports (SSRS, Power BI).
- Support integrations with external systems using REST/OData APIs and data entities.
- Participate in the full application lifecycle including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Assist with data migration activities, including Dual-write, Data management, writing data manipulation logic and performing validations.
- Deliver user training and create documentation for new features, processes, and custom functionalities.
- Troubleshoot functional and technical issues and implement effective solutions and bug fixes.
- Monitor system performance, recommend optimizations, and stay current with D365 F&O updates and roadmap features.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or equivalent experience in relevant fields.
- MB-500 – Microsoft Dynamics 365: Finance and Operations Apps Developer
- MB-300 – Microsoft Dynamics 365: Core Finance and Operations
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O) in a functional and technical capacity.
- Proficient in configuring D365 F&O modules (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain) and customizing solutions using X++ and extension frameworks.
- Strong experience in SSRS reporting and Report Designer, including creation and customization of financial and operational reports.
- Solid understanding of Dual-write architecture and experience configuring integrations between D365 F&O and Dataverse/CRM.
- Expertise in Data Management Framework, including data entities, data projects, import/export, and recurring jobs.
- Experience designing and building data integrations with external systems via OData, custom services, and Power Platform connectors.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, LCS, and deployment pipelines.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct fit-gap analysis, and document functional and technical designs.
- Experience supporting end-user training, UAT, and go-live activities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot both functional and technical issues.
- Proficient knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies (e.g., 5S, PDCA, Process Mapping, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
- MB-310 and/or MB-330 – Depending on functional focus (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years in Lean methodologies, process improvement, operational excellence, or experience supporting new product/service launches.
- Proven experience in leading change initiatives and managing projects from inception to completion.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to work in both office and production floor environments.
- Flexible to work across 1st and 2nd shifts, as needed.
- Occasional travel (10-15%) may be required for training, workshops, or facility assessments.
- Keyboarding - (Up to 8 hours per day) Entering text or data into a computer by means of a keyboard. Devices include a traditional keyboard, 10 keypads, touch screen and others.
- Sitting/Standing - (Up to 8 hours per day) The ability to alternate between sitting and standing at a desk is present when a worker has the flexibility to choose between sitting or standing as needed when this need cannot be accommodated by scheduled breaks and/or lunch period.
