Summary:
Vighter is seeking a highly skilled Logistics Clerk who will be responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of goods, supplies, and resources from one location to another, including tasks like transportation planning, inventory control, warehouse management, and data analysis, to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery while adhering to regulations and collaborating with stakeholders across the supply chain.
Education, Licensure/Certification & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Arranging and coordinating transportation services, selecting carriers, negotiating rates, and tracking shipments.
- Monitoring stock levels, managing warehouse space, and optimizing inventory to minimize costs and prevent stockouts.
- Analyzing shipment data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Designing and implementing logistics strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet delivery deadlines.
- Collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and manage purchase orders.
- Ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and industry standards regarding shipping and logistics.
- Identifying and implementing cost-saving measures within the logistics process.
- Addressing customer inquiries regarding order status and resolving delivery issues.
- Generating reports on logistics performance metrics and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborating with other departments within the supply chain to optimize overall flow of goods.
- Skills and qualifications for a logistics specialist role typically include:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in logistics software and data analysis tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
- Understanding of supply chain principles and best practices
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements

- Employees shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the job requirements, including ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.

Duty Hours / On-call Requirements:
- The corporate office is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; however, during times of rapid mobilization and coordination of travel, hours may be extended to include nights and weekends.
Travel:
- As required to satisfy the contractual obligations. Generally, travel is limited to commute from residence to the worksite. Commute is non-compensatory. All official travel is government funded.

Qualifications:
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, and/or sit for more than 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to perform duties in a stressful and often austere environment without physical limitations.
- Must be able to use an elevator or walk up and down stairs.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 10 feet.
- Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders.
- Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print.
- Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
- Must be willing to work day, night, weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overtime if necessary.
- Must be able to perform duties in an indoor and/or outdoor environment.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation. Candidate must not have been convicted of, pled guilty to, pled nolo contender to, or received probation prior to judgment for any crime other than a minor traffic violation, the record of which has not been expunged.
- Must undergo Urine Drug Screening (UDS).
