Summary

The Chain Account Manager will manage and merchandise our portfolio of craft beer, wine and spirits to off premise chain accounts and for a few independent stores. The candidate we seek is a team player, has experience in beverage sales (preferably in the alcoholic beverage industry), and possesses a desire to enthusiastically generate sales activity, close sales and merchandise product.  The territory for this job is located in the Boulder County area.

The ideal candidate should be motivated by working independently in a regional sales situation, in the fast-changing beverage industry, and in the dynamic atmosphere of Elite Brands. This member of our team should also have high-quality organizational skills, values consistent with our mission, ability to establish relationships with customers and suppliers, and desire to actively pursue new business. Familiarity with local marketplace, companies and community in the region assigned is preferred.

Essential Duties

  • Effectively promotes and sells products, services, and/or related accessories through suggestive sales techniques to meet and surpass profitability goals.
  • Timely provides customers with accurate product price quotations and additional details, as appropriate.
  • Writes up and processes sales using computerized software in a professional and timely manner and in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Merchandises assigned accounts as needed.
  • Early mornings and weekends at accounts.
  • Relays appropriate information to customers to enhance the Company's image.
  • Researches trends and technical developments through related publications and training sessions to maintain current knowledge and specifically meet customer requests.
  • Timely resolves customer complaints and concerns within a timely manner and reports such issues to manager.
  • Demonstrates understanding of and supports for sales policies and procedures to provide proper and effective treatment to all customers.
  • Effectively operates system to check pricing and stock availability.
  • Assists in the training of co-workers, as assigned.
  • Develops maximum sales potential out of assigned territory through competitive sales techniques and knowledge of the Company's products and services as well as the competition's strengths/weaknesses.
  • Builds and maintains quality relations with existing assigned accounts, and increases account base and volume of sales on a consistent basis.
  • Routinely contacts customers through a combination of telephone communications, written communications and in person visits by traveling as frequently as necessary to meet or surpass profitable sales goals.
  • Continuously reevaluates work to increase market share.
  • Creates customized proposals to meet specific customer requirements in an efficient manner.
  • Stays abreast of market conditions regarding products, product updates, service offerings and new technologies.
  • Actively utilizes Company leads to expand current customer base and timely follows up all leads.
  • Maintains updated, organized files on all accounts in assigned territory.
  • Provides accurate information and follow up on customers, as required.
  • Develops customer relationships by providing account with additional training services, e.g. hand selling, in store tasting, staff training, and events.
  • Ensures high levels of product visibility and salability through the use of, point of sale, but not limited to, shelf talkers, sales sheets, etc.
  • Establish strong relationships with customers and suppliers, and actively pursues new business in accounts.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

  • Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software; inventory; order processing; and database software.
  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year’s sales experience is preferred; experience in the wine, beer and grocery industry is an advantage.
  • Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
