HAMPTON HALL IS LOOKING FOR A FOOD RUNNER
The Hampton Hall Club Food Runner is responsible for setting up and clearing tables, stocking all line and pantry stations, and assisting food servers with table service. This position reports directly to the Dining Services Manager.
Essential Functions
The following functions are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.
- Assists servers as required.
- Expedites orders in kitchen using DUP's on plate-up-line ensuring that each dish is complete and ready for presentation
- Assembles and delivers large service trays with plated meals to tables in dining room
- Serves plated food items to tables using table and seat position numbers
- Interacts with customers/guests/members in a pleasant and courteous manner
- Serves beverages, breads and butter, and replenishes as necessary.
- Informs server or floor managers of any service issues
- Assists in grooming tables during the course of the meal
- Prepares table for resetting. Assists in promptly and consistently resets all service ware as prescribed.
- Maintains stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary
- Equipment including silverware, linen, and condiments
- Transports all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area
- Has knowledge and understanding of Hampton Hall’s company policies
- Performs general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned
- Folds napkins and polishes silverware for all meal periods throughout the shift
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- General understanding of the principles of food and hospitality service
- A proven work history of the Club beverage industry.
- Must work as a team.
Education and Experience
- A minimum of one-year hospitality service is preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in customer service
- Ability to communicate clearly and speak, read, write and understand English
Physical Requirements
This work requires the regular exe1tion of up to 50 pounds of force and frequent exe1tion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting; work requires exposure and handling of hot and cold food items and equipment; work has no special vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer
data, using measuring devices and observing general surroundings and activities; work has some exposure to environmental
conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy kitchen location with light traffic. Anti-slip shoes must be worn.
Licenses and Special Requirements
- ServSafe certification
- TIPS training preferred
- A valid driver’s license
- Ability to drive a golf cart
