Description

Purpose:  Loading and unloading, moving company goods and donations in an efficient manner while representing the Society with a professional and courteous attitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Tasks and Targets:

  1. Clock in and out no more/less than 2 minutes from the begging or end of your shift.
  2. All Clothing Merchandise Handlers are responsible for the tidiness of their area including the accommodation of all empty hangers and other supplies.
  3. All Clothing Merchandise Handlers are responsible for and need to make sure they have all of their necessary tools and supplies for their work station. Supervisor must be notified immediately if tools or supplies are needed.
  4. When on the floor, assist customers by greeting them with a smile, and offering to help find what they are looking for or additional items.  Apply general customer service etiquette as needed to encourage returning customers and increased sales.
  5. Verify that all clothing racks are organized in the required order. For example, properly separate children’s clothing, women’s clothing and men’s clothing.
  6. Clothing Merchandise Handlers are responsible for bringing out a minimum of 10 clothing racks to the floor a day. 5 racks for part timers.
  7. Place all racks and hangers in their appropriate holding area. Maintain your work area free of any hazards at all times.
  8. All Clothing Merchandise Handlers must be in compliance with company policies and safety procedures and adhere to them.
  9. All injuries and accidents must be reported to the immediate supervisor on duty. Any safety violations within the company must be reported immediately, on same day of incident, to the supervisor on duty.
  10. At the end of the day do not leave any rolling clothing racks with clothing on the sales floor.
  11. Breaks begin and end when clocking in/out.  Lunches must be taken at the appropriate time based on set schedules to maintain representatives on floor at all times.
  12. The Clothing Merchandise Handlers are responsible for maintaining the departments clean and organized throughout their shift.
  13. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proper use of equipment
  • Excellent Customer Service
  • Proper loading, unloading, and tie-down of merchandise 
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
  • Report to work in a timely manner with the appropriate dress code.
  • Observe appropriate times for breaks and lunches. These MUST be taken on time while taking into consideration fellow coworkers and store needs. Breaks begin and end in your assigned department or when clocking in/out.
  • Stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.  Push & pull up to 150 lbs. with appropriate equipment.
  • Regular and on-time attendance is critical.
