Summary: The Senior Project Engineer plays a crucial role in the Project Realization function, overseeing the development and implementation of engineered solutions that are safe, cost-effective, and compliant with all relevant standards. This position involves leading the engineering aspects of projects, either individually or as the Lead Engineer for a small team on larger projects, from customer commitment through to final handover. The Senior Project Engineer ensures that system designs meet current legislation and verification requirements, guaranteeing successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
Before You Apply
 In this role, you’ll start with an immersive 18-month training program based in Europe, visiting multiple TGW sites and gaining hands-on experience. The initial four months will be structured training abroad, followed by active involvement in pilot projects across the U.S. You will be instrumental in delivering major projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams across global locations. This position requires a high level of travel, primarily internal within TGW and customer sites.
Our ideal candidate:
•   Proven experience managing large-scale, high-value projects
•   A background in automation, warehousing, or logistics
•   Amazon project experience (preferred)
•   U.S. Citizenship or Green Card
•   Residency in Michigan or the East Coast
Required Qualifications:
•   Experience in a similar role, ideally within a Materials Handling environment
•   Minimum of HNC level qualification in Engineering
•   Proficient CAD user
•   Strong experience with MS Office, including Excel and Project
•   Cost awareness and financial management skills
•   Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
•   Ability to work to precise and structured methods
•   Up to 25% travel both domestically and internationally including a 4-month training period Abroad
Preferred Qualifications:
•   Experience of completing 3D layouts
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•   Review the operational feasibility of designs to ensure they meet project requirements.
•   Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize solutions and ensure adherence to the project budget.
•   Proactively identify cost-saving opportunities for TGW and incorporate them into project execution.
•   Prepare system layouts, General Arrangements (GA’s), and site installation packs.
•   Develop detailed specifications, design documents, and technical sections of Invitations to Tender (ITT’s).
•   Review equipment designs and specifications to ensure standardization across all projects.
•   Ensure the proper selection of TGW equipment and manage technical detail engineering.
•   Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department.
•   Review equipment throughputs and capacities to ensure optimal design functionality.
•   Conduct technical analysis of tender returns to ensure feasibility and alignment with project goals.
•   Develop design risk assessments and review projects to ensure full compliance with current legislation.
•   Maintain a thorough understanding of local authority regulations and design according to relevant BS/EN standards.
•   Participate in regular design team reviews, project reviews, and customer meetings to ensure alignment and progress.
•   Conduct site surveys and monitor installations to ensure design integrity and successful implementation.
•   Assist in the preparation of Health & Safety and technical files for project documentation.
•   Provide technical sales support and oversee the management of project documentation.
•   Continuously improve departmental processes to enhance efficiency and project delivery.
•   Train and supervise junior Project Engineering team members, supporting their development towards Senior Project Engineer roles.
•   Lead projects from an engineering perspective, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks by yourself and the team.
•   Collaborate with the Presales Team to ensure that sold solutions meet current TGW standards and requirements before project award.
•   Monitor project budgets on a weekly basis to ensure costs remain within the allocated budget.

•   Ability to remain stationary at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
•   Ability to go to site frequently and move safely around industrial and/or warehouse environment.
•   Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds at a time.Â
•   Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.Â
•   Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing, on a frequent basis.Â
•   Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.
