SUMMARY
|
The Technical Trainer reports to the Technical Training Manager and designs, delivers, and evaluates TGW‘s training programs specializing in mechanical and electrical systems. The Technical Trainer possesses a strong understanding of TGW’s automated solutions and aims to equip team members with the skills needed to optimize performance and maintenance of mechanical and electrical components. This position ensures that all training aligns with TGW’s quality and safety standards and fosters professional development.
This is a remote position, with frequent travel to customer sites.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
|
- Develops comprehensive training materials covering mechanical and electrical systems, focused on logistics, material-handling, and automation equipment.
- Tailors training programs to address specific needs related to mechanical and electrical equipment, aligning content with latest updates and lessons learned from real-world operations.
- Conducts hands-on and theoretical training sessions for technicians, focusing on troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance optimization.
- Creates and compiles troubleshooting procedures, root cause analyses, and best practices to develop robust knowledge base for the team.
- Acts as a technical advisor (third-level support) to help troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues encountered in the field.
- Provides ongoing coaching and support to technicians to ensure skill retention and practical application.
- Promote adherence to TGW’s quality standards during operations and maintenance activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
|
Education:
|
Associate degree or Technical Certificate in Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
|
Experience:
|
Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems in industrial or related environments.
|
Travel:
|
Ability to travel up to 70%.
|
Skills & Abilities
|
- Demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing material-handling equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, manufacturing, or related environments.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens preferred) and SCADA.
- Strong ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics for use in diagnostics.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc).

Physical Requirements
- Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, push and pull
- Must be able to coordinate movement of several parts of the body, such as arms and legs, while the body is moving
- Must be able to keep or regain the body’s balance or stay upright when in an unstable position

- Requires prolonged period of standing and walking
- Must be able to climb a 70-foot fixed ladder (ladder has rest points every10ft)
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; maximum unassisted lift = 50 lbs; average lift less than 20 lbs
- Must be able to adjust body movements or equipment controls to keep pace with speed changes of moving objects
- While looking forward, must be able to see objects or movements that are off to the side
- Must be able to visually inspect machines
- Must be able to see differences between colors, shades and brightness
- Exposed to moving and/or motorized equipment, machinery, parts and electricity that require safety protocols
- Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand
- Must be able to understand the speech of others
- Must be able to hear sounds and recognize the difference between them
- Must be able to focus on one source of sound and ignore others
- Must be able to determine from which direction a sound came
- Must be able to use critical PPE correctly
- Exposed to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather based on geographic region
