SUMMARY

The Business Development Manager reports to the Manager of Lifetime Services Sales and spearheads business development efforts for the Lifetime Services business segment.  The Business Development Manager creates and executes the LTS business development strategy by initiating customer outreach, conducting market research, and securing potential project opportunities for LTS.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initiate outbound activity (calls, emails, direct marketing) to prospective customers based on leads or lists provided, introducing TGW LTS offerings, products, and services to build pipeline of future customers.
  • Qualify engagements to identify potential customers who are likely to be interested in the offered products or services and gather relevant information about the prospect.
  • Ensure engagements are properly evaluated for likeliness and readiness to progress into a formal enquiry ending in a viable sale.
  • Acquire and maintain a solid knowledge of the TGW LTS catalog, including any industry-specific details, to effectively communicate features, benefits, and pricing to potential customers.  Deliver compelling pitches to engage and persuade prospects as appropriate.
  • Build rapport and establish a positive relationship with customers through effective communication and active listening.  Identify strategic customer concerns, needs, and objections.
  • Develop and provide regular reports and updates to management on customer responses, market trends, and product performance.
  • Accurately record customer information, preferences, and interactions in CRM, ensuring data accuracy for future reference.
  • Conduct follow-up outreach with clients who fall away and bring accounts back to “warm account” status.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Associate degree or equivalent experience

Experience:

Several years experience in sales, preferably in tele-sales or distance-selling capacity.

Travel:

Ability to travel domestically & internationally approximately 50%.

Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage customers effectively via phone or email.
  • Strong active-listening skills to identify customer priorities and ability to adapt sales pitch accordingly
  • Effective organization and time management skills to manage multiple calls, clients, and prospects
  • Comfort using technology such as Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and sales tools
  • Prior experience in and/or understanding of material-handling and intralogistics industry a bonus

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use office equipment and computers throughout working day.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms regularly.
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies and materials up to 25 lbs on occasion.
  • Ability to see, talk, and hear regularly.
