SUMMARY
|
The General Accountant reports to the Senior Controller within TGW’s North America business. The General Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial accounting records through accounting transactions, reconciliations, and proper month end closing tasks. This role ensures adherence to GAAP and all other relevant laws and regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Performs account analysis and reconciliation of General Ledger Accounts
- Handles corporate filings and ensures compliance with state regulations.
- Conducts credit checks for new customers and maintains customer accounts.
- Maintains accounts receivable aging, distribute past due reports, and perform reconciliations.
- Prepares and reconciles inventory reports.
- Reconciles corporate credit cards (JPM, AmEx).
- Prepares and files multi-state sales tax returns, manages payments, and supports audits.
- Summarizes costs and manages fixed assets.
- Calculates and reconciles commissions.
- Calculates and reconciles volume rebate programs.
- Assists with month-end and year-end close functions, including audit processes and journal entry preparation.
- Maintains cash flow and performs bank reconciliations.
- Supports other finance and accounting activities, including budgeting processes.

REQUIREMENTS
|
Education:
|
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
|
Experience:
|
Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant accounting experience
|
Skills & Abilities
|
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Solid understanding of finance and accounting compliance procedures.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting tools.
- Proficiency in a variety of accounting software platforms; MS Dynamics Navision and SAP ERP experience a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms regularly.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies and materials up to 25 lbs on occasion.
