Description

SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant reports to the Senior Controller and supports Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable day-to-day activities.  The Staff Accountant is responsible for processing of invoices and payments on accounts.  This role ensures adherence to GAAP and all other relevant laws and regulations. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Processes and manages accounts payable, including invoice verification, payment processing, and vendor communication (three-way match)
  • Process expense reports using Concur
  • Maintains Intercompany Invoicing sheet, reconciling monthly to other entity currency (EUR, GBP)
  • Handles accounts receivable tasks, such as invoicing, payment collection, and customer account management
  • Posts daily cash reciepts to Customer Accounts
  • Prepares and enters monthly journal entries
  • Assists with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Supports internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support financial operations.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field,

Experience:

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting roles.

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Solid understanding of finance and accounting compliance procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting tools and software programs, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • MS Dynamics Navision and SAP ERP experience a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use office equipment and computers throughout working day.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms regularly.
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies and materials up to 25 lbs on occasion.
  • Ability to see, talk, and hear regularly.
