SUMMARY
|
The senior Electrical Engineer III supports the design and integration of control systems for industrial material-handling solutions and production lines.  This role utilizes engineering tools and processes in the planning, design, engineering, and implementation of controls engineering equipment. The Electrical Engineer functions as a technical lead within the Electrical Engineering team and guides junior team members on larger projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
|
- Creates and maintains controls engineering and design documentation, including sensor/actuator layouts, controls component order lists, electrical drawings, motor lists, etc.
- Cross-references controls components, creates TGW part numbers, and orders necessary controls components in designated software tools (e.g. Navision).
- Assists with troubleshooting efforts to investigate and resolve design issues onsite and offsite.
- Provides technical support to Project Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical Installation, Controls Commissioning, and other internal teams involved in installation and commissioning of TGW equipment.
- Serves as subject matter expert, mentoring and guiding other Electrical Engineering team members.
- Specifies, clarifies, and documents the controls interfaces for third-party equipment, and communication points with software (Controls PLC and MFS) while supporting the controls processes.
- Creates and maintains documentation for integrated safety and network engineering.
- Assists with controls installation request-for-quote (RFQ) process.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
|
Education:
|
Bachelor’s degree in Controls-related field (Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
|
Experience:
|
Five (5) or more years of Controls or Electrical Engineering experience in industrial or material-handling environment.Â
|
Travel:
|
Up to 20% travel, as required.
|
Skills & Abilities
|
- Thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical principles, with the ability to read e-drawings and AutoCAD drawings.
- Robust knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
- Demonstrated experience working on full design-to-production project lifecycles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain stationary at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to go to site frequently and move safely around industrial and/or warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.
- Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing, on a frequent basis.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.

Other Requirements
This position may require work at TGW customer sites. TGW’s customers may require background checks before accessing their sites. Refusal to participate in a customer-required background check may result in a customer barring access and a subsequent reduction in work.
