Principal Duty
The Systems Integration Manager is involved in a project from the back end of the pre-sales process throughout the realization process until final acceptance of the solution to the client. They design and drive to completion all aspects of a solution related to functionality or performance. This includes providing feedback to the TGW Solutions Design team based on gaps between design assumptions and reality and defining success for the Mechanical, Controls, SW suppliers (internal/external), then checking, and ensuring that those suppliers have delivered.
This is a client-facing role that requires a strong technical understanding of the solution, warehousing operations and the ability to manage the client and their expectations. Forming strong working relationships with the core engineering teams and the client are essential.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Pre-Sales
- Consult, challenge and validate the solution can be delivered as proposed
- Design assumptions, system requirements & specifications, Material Flow Diagram and Performance Line Diagram, functional scope, acceptance criteria, simulation model setup, strategies and results
- Audit the ROR (Risk and Opportunity Register) to safeguard against unnecessary risks
Detail Engineering
- Guide and synchronize engineering across the core teams, integrating the design assumptions, contractual commitments, layout, system and operations requirements, simulation strategies, software and controls, mechanical equipment, and third party products to align solution intent through to final acceptance
- Prepare and maintain documentation from sales hand-over through to final acceptance:
- Define tests scenarios and audit test plan and results to prove system is ready for hand-over
- Define system data and KPIs to track in order to measure system behavior
Commissioning and Ramp-Up
- Ensure readiness for customer take over
- Manage customer expectations
- Monitor and analyze system data and KPIs to align design assumptions to reality
- Contribute to issue management and resolution
Requirements Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Controls, and/or Software) with a minimum of 5-7 years of Material Handling experience
- Understanding of AutoCAD, AutoMod and Siemens Plant Simulation are preferred
- Advanced ability to collect, maintain, and analyze data and recommendations to customers through excellent communication and presentation skills to guide them around technical decisions.
- Ability to evaluate customer business processes with in-depth knowledge of automated distribution centers from the mechatronic elements up to the high level knowledge of software, controls, and mechanical components
- Advanced abilities in MS applications Excel, PowerPivot, Access, Word, Visio and PowerPoint
- Able to work in an multi-disciplinary and intercultural experts network
- Willingness to travel domestically (up to 30%) and internationally (occasionally)
