Principal Duty
Electrical Engineer I is an entry-level position in the TGW Controls Engineering Department. Electrical Engineer I will utilize engineering tools and processes in the planning, design, engineering, and implementation of the controls engineering for customer orders according to scope, budget, and schedule.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Complete internal training of related engineering tools and processes.
- Verify accuracy of controls design documentation, including sensor/actuator layouts and reports, controls component order lists, electrical drawings, motor lists, etc.
- Create and maintain controls engineering documentation – including sensor/actuator layouts and associated engineering and electrical installation reports, controls component order lists, electrical drawings and associated reports. – on project under direction of a lead engineer.
- Cross-reference, and/or specify controls components, create TGW part numbers, and order controls components in associated software tools (Navision).
- Support the specification and clarification of controls interfaces to equipment supplied by third-parties.
- Support on-site controls installation and logistics.
Requirements Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a controls-related field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science) preferred, or associate's degree and equivalent experience.
- Experience, such as an internship, within the material handling industry is preferred.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits with the ability to read e-drawings.
- Basic understanding of mechanical designs with the ability to read AutoCAD drawings.
- Willingness to travel 70-90% of the time domestically and internationally during a training period of 6-12 months.
