Principal Duty

Electrical Engineer I is an entry-level position in the TGW Controls Engineering Department. Electrical Engineer I will utilize engineering tools and processes in the planning, design, engineering, and implementation of the controls engineering for  customer orders according to scope, budget, and schedule.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Complete internal training of related engineering tools and processes.
  2. Verify accuracy of controls design documentation, including sensor/actuator layouts and reports, controls component order lists, electrical drawings, motor lists, etc.
  3. Create and maintain controls engineering documentation – including sensor/actuator layouts and associated engineering and electrical installation reports, controls component order lists, electrical drawings and associated reports. – on project under direction of a lead engineer.
  4. Cross-reference, and/or specify controls components, create TGW part numbers, and order controls components in associated software tools (Navision).
  5. Support the specification and clarification of controls interfaces to equipment supplied by third-parties.
  6. Support on-site controls installation and logistics.

Requirements Profile

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a controls-related field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science) preferred, or associate's degree and equivalent experience.
  2. Experience, such as an internship, within the material handling industry is preferred.
  3. Basic understanding of electrical circuits with the ability to read e-drawings.
  4. Basic understanding of mechanical designs with the ability to read AutoCAD drawings.
  5. Willingness to travel 70-90% of the time domestically and internationally during a training period of 6-12 months.
