Description

Principal Duty

The LTS Controls Engineer will work amongst TGW’s Lifetime Services (LTS) Field Service team to identify and deploy improvements within our automated material handling systems. This role will maintain and improve controls components across our sites throughout the United States.    

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Electrical installation management and verification
  • Mechanical adjustment of installed equipment
  • Solution design and technical consultation to sales team
  • Documentation of controls solutions
  • Hotline (remote support) for recent installations
  • Training for internal and customer teams
  • Review system design and provide feedback to solutions to determine system feasibility during the retrofit/post-sales phase
  • Assist with quotation hours for new development projects or special implementations
  • Support Field Service and Onsite Teams
  • Communicate with the product developers globally (It is important that all the communication to the product developers is channelized through the technical leads)
  • Ensure a standardized solution across the project (code standards, electrical standards, mechanical standards)
  • Prepare and train internal and customer teams on new technology onsite
  • Develop tools for increasing efficiency/quality

Requirements Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in a controls related field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent).
  • Five or more years of experience in an industrial environment that includes design, debug, startup and production-cut in of Material Handling Controls equipment.
  • Experience in Controls Commissioning engineering with TGW on the relevant Product lines preferred.
  • Ability to be exposed and familiar with of multiple customer platforms.
  • Experience working on full design to production project lifecycle.
  • Siemens – TIA Portal V13, Step 7 (STL, SCL, FBD, etc.) advanced knowledge
  • Understanding for Industrial Communication Protocol (ProfiNet, Ethernet IP, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience working on a full design to production project lifecycles.
  • Willingness to travel 90% of the time domestically and internationally.
