Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Location: URBN Distribution Facility (11681 State Ave, Kansas City, KS 66111)

Position Details:

  • Starting Rate: $33 per hour, more based upon experience
  • Job Type: Full-time, in-person, four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Shift: Weekend PM (Thurs – Sun, 4:30 PM – 4:00 AM)

Job Duties and Responsibilities

This position works with a team of technicians onsite to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automation equipment within the facility.  The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will:

  • Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment on-site, such as conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible.  Lead maintenance efforts on complex issues that require in-depth technical knowledge.
  • Work individually or with other team members to complete work assignments as assigned.
  • Adhere to quality standards, while complying with all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.  Associate degree or Technical Certificate in Controls Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related a bonus.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting and repair of equipment in industrial, warehouse/distribution, or manufacturing environments.
  • Previous experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance of material-handling conveyors, AS/RS, and shuttle systems.
  • Familiarity with SCADA and HMI.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting knowledge a bonus.
