Job Title:  Data Analyst

Department: RW Jones Agency/Rankin Climate

Location: Remote

Reports to: Executive Vice President

(Salary Range: $65,000 - $72,000)

 

Who You Are

The Data Analyst is instrumental in supporting the organization’s data initiatives, focusing on data analysis, visualization, and scientific writing. This role involves a combination of (1) managing and analyzing data to provide actionable insights, (2) developing data visualization dashboards in Tableau and Power BI, and (3) developing data-based reports and presentation materials. Competitive candidates for this position will have notable experience in at least two of the three general areas, with the third being an area for growth in the role. The Data Analyst will collaborate with other team members to ensure that all deliverables meet RW Jones’ and Rankin Climate’s high standards and align with client needs. This position is crucial for ensuring the success of RW Jones’ and Rankin Climate's data-driven projects as they deliver high-quality, insightful deliverables to their campus partners.

Data Management:

  • Support the management and maintenance of data, including conducting queries and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Clean and organize data sources to prepare them for analysis and reporting.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of data collection methods and reporting tools.

Data Analysis and Visualization:

  • Conduct univariate statistical analyses (descriptive and inferential) of large datasets to describe the sample and identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain data visualization dashboards (Tableau/Power BI) to visualize data effectively, ensuring they meet client requirements and align with organizational goals.

Data-Based Reporting:

  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations based on the results
  • Prepare figures and tables to present results.

Collaboration and Process Improvement:

  • Work closely with other team members to ensure accurate and efficient use of data across various projects.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements within data analysis and reporting workflows.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to reporting processes and procedures.

Client Support and Deliverables:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and provide support as needed.
  • Work with stakeholders to refine reports, presentation materials, and data visualization dashboards.

Qualifications

What You Offer

Experience 

  • Experience in data analysis, management, and visualization, focusing on generating actionable insights.
  • Experience with statistical software, including SPSS
  • Proficiency in using Tableau and/or Power BI for dashboard development and other tools such as Excel and statistical software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
