Director - Accountable Care Organization (ACO) - Salaried

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Director of the ACO will be responsible for the day-to-day activities, reporting, and functions of the ACO and GAH’s participation in the IRCCO ACO.  The Director of the ACO will report to the Chief Executive Officer of GAHHS,

To provide personalized, professional healthcare services to the residents of the Communities we serve.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

•    Work with ACO staff to create ad-hoc reports on quality data within the GAH clinics.
•    Build relationships with Clinic Staff, Clinic Managers, and Providers and serve as a key resource for data as it pertains to the ACO. 
•    Track and update the CEO on CCC, TCC, and AWV.
•    Works with staff to coordinate managed care Quality data.
•    Helps carry out process improvements as it pertains to clinic quality.
•    Work with external entities such as the Illinois Rural Community Care Organization (IRCCO) to provide necessary report and data. 
•    Supervise and direct activities of the CMA and Nurse of the ACO.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.    
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1.    Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
2.    Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
3.    Skill in performing safety inspections and ensuring compliance with regulatory safety standards. 
4.    Knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations, protocols, and/or procedures.
5.    Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
6.    Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
7.    Skill in performing safety inspections ensuring compliance with OSHA and NFPA safety standards.
8.    Ability to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds, lifting up to 10 feet on a daily basis, and standing up to 1 hour if necessary.
9.    Physical strength to perform the following lifting tasks:
a.    Floor to Knuckle- 20 pounds
b.    12” to Knuckle- 30 pounds
c.    Knuckle to Shoulder- 20 pounds
d.    Shoulder to Overhead- 10 pounds
e.    Carry 14 feet- 20 pounds
f.    Push 25 feet- 10 pounds
g.    Pull 10 feet- 10 pounds
10.    Ability to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and protocols.
11.    Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
12.    Ability to respond on call requests after hours in a timely and appropriate manner.
13.    Visual acuity necessary to observe, obtain information and use documentation.
14.    Auditory acuity to hear patient/family/others for the purpose of communication

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

     Reports to the Chief Executive Officer

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

•    BS or BA healthcare related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience with sufficient knowledge in the principles and practices of healthcare processes, functions and systems. 
•    Proficient in MS Office applications and ability to learn department and job-specific software systems.
•    Demonstrate organizational skills.
•    Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
•    Demonstrate analytical skills when problem-solving.
•    Demonstrate high attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy

INFECTION EXPOSURE RISK LEVEL

Category 2– Minimal Risk – This job exposes you to occasional or in emergency situations to blood, body fluids or tissue.  It is recommended that you get the Hepatitis B vaccine

WORKING CONDITIONS

1.    Works in a normal office where there relatively few discomforts due to dust, diet, noise, and the like.

2.    Works in office with one other employee, potential for personal harm or injury is limited when proper safety precautions are taken.  Maintains right to take measures when interviewing or investigating a claim to insist on privacy in the work area.
