Senior Graphic Designer

SUMMARY

In support of the university’s mission and objectives, the Senior Graphic Designer develops innovative design concepts that effectively communicate and capture the PBA story. This position ensures brand consistency across all materials while providing creative support to various departments. Additional responsibilities include generating design proposals, reviewing deliverables, resolving project challenges, and creating compelling promotional content for both print and digital platforms.


Design Concepts

  • Leads the design and production of high-quality visual materials.
  • Explores new ways of thinking and fresh approaches to design to communicate the story of PBA in a visually compelling way.
  • Generates creative design proposals to visualize the desired output and involves team members fostering a creative team environment.
  • Provides video and event graphics designs for the Creative Services team.

Branding & Design Standards

  • Ensures that the PBA brand and story is captured and conveyed in a compelling way.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on all PBA branding elements reinforcing brand standards across all designs.
  • Reviews, mentors, and provides feedback to designers on creative deliverables ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.

Project Leadership

  • Quickly identifies and resolves design project challenges ensuring seamless communication and timely completion.
  • Recommends improvements on project processes and provides feedback to project managers with the goal of excellent project execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, or equivalent experience. Discipline in Graphic Design, Marketing, or Visual Communications.
  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in higher education.

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design tools. 
  • Portfolio demonstrating a strong understanding of design principles in a variety of design projects with a strong visual aesthetic.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work non-routine hours during certain times of the year.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
