SUMMARY: The Head E-Sports Coach will be a positive, energetic leader who is responsible for the overall management of the E-Sports club sport program with student-athlete welfare as a guiding principle

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads all aspects of a competitive E-Sports Club Sport Program

    • Coordinate all aspects of a diverse and dynamic E-sports program including, but not limited to: managing the day-to-day operations and recruiting academically, athletically, and mission-fit student-athletes to the E-sports program with a commitment to excellence and continued competitive success

    • Lead coaching and instruction activities during training, practice and competition.

    • Provide guidance and input on game selection

    • Manage the E-sports lab

    • Develop and maintain the E-sports budget   

  • Supervise support staff (assistant coaches and team managers)

    • Recruits and hires a competent and effective support staff

    • Mentor and supervise support staff

  • Marketing and Fundraising efforts

    • Assists with the coordination of program marketing, media and public relations

    • Assists with facilitating charitable giving by donors and fundraising events

Qualifications

Education Required: Bachelor's degree, Must have valid driver's license with minimal violations

Experience Required: Minimum of one year competitive E-sports experience involving team-based multiplayer online video games

Skills Required: 

  • Demonstrated effective teaching methods, excellent leadership, role-modeling, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Successful experience  organizing E-sports programs or events

  • Demonstrated success working with diverse populations

  • Must be able to work well with students, campus, alumnae, and E-sports organization constituencies, work independently and as part of a team, and drive university vehicles

  • Must also be able and willing to travel and work evenings and weekends.
