Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Malpractice Paralegal to join our team in the Charleston office. This position will primarily support a team of two attorneys and one administrative assistant in the area of medical malpractice litigation. The ideal candidate will be an experienced paralegal with a strong understanding of medical malpractice law and a commitment to providing high-quality legal support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in all stages of medical malpractice litigation, including case preparation, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Draft, proofread, and revise legal documents such as complaints, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring that all documentation is current and properly filed.
  • Communicate with clients, medical professionals, and experts as needed.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare summaries of medical records, depositions, and other relevant information.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including preparing exhibits and trial notebooks.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Manage deadlines and assist with the case management process to ensure timely progress.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical malpractice litigation.
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent education and experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and records.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
