The Role:
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), as a member of an interdisciplinary care team, assists with appropriate therapeutic intervention under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to maximize the client’s physical functioning.
Work Schedule:
- Per Diem
- Monday to Friday
- 9:00 am- 5:00 pm
Responsibilities:
- Provides fabulous every day care, every day to clients and other customers.
- Implements portions of a client’s Physical Therapy program including modalities, gait training, therapeutic exercise and transfer training after the treatment program is established by the Physical Therapist.
- Modifies treatment programs as needed and progresses clients as tolerated based on observation and in consultation with the Physical Therapist.
- Assists the Physical Therapist directly in administering tests and assessment procedures.
- Observes and documents the client’s responses to treatment.
- Provides client, family, and staff education and training as needed and documents appropriately.
Qualifications:
- An Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy is required.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license.
- Demonstrates good moral character.
- CPR certified.
- Prefer 1 year experience with variety of clients.
- Must be of good moral character.
- Knowledge of Physical Therapy treatments and assistive techniques.
