The Role:

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), as a member of an interdisciplinary care team, assists with appropriate therapeutic intervention under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to maximize the client’s physical functioning.

Work Schedule:

  • Per Diem
  • Monday to Friday
  • 9:00 am- 5:00 pm

Responsibilities:

  • Provides fabulous every day care, every day to clients and other customers.
  • Implements portions of a client’s Physical Therapy program including modalities, gait training, therapeutic exercise and transfer training after the treatment program is established by the Physical Therapist.
  • Modifies treatment programs as needed and progresses clients as tolerated based on observation and in consultation with the Physical Therapist.
  • Assists the Physical Therapist directly in administering tests and assessment procedures.
  • Observes and documents the client’s responses to treatment.
  • Provides client, family, and staff education and training as needed and documents appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy is required.
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license.
  • Demonstrates good moral character.
  • CPR certified.
  • Prefer 1 year experience with variety of clients.
  • Must be of good moral character.
  • Knowledge of Physical Therapy treatments and assistive techniques.
