We are a trusted organization that serves nearly 30,000 youth and adults from yearly from more than 50 school districts and nearly 70 private schools and community organizations across 19 Pennsylvania counties. Our mission is to engage all children in the support they need to succeed.
We are looking for a full-time Workforce Coordinator who will work in a positive, mission-driven environment. The Workforce Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Early Learning Department, Shared Services, Human Resources, and the CEO to carry out all the parts of the ECE workforce professional development initiative. The Workforce Coordinator is also responsible for assisting with all aspects of the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Apprenticeship program and other professional development opportunities, including certified training in Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED for staff of The Learning Lamp and other local child care centers. Aspects of the job include marketing, program growth, data collection, program compliance, oversight of ECE job coaches, and day-to-day assistance to staff members, apprentices, employers, and coaches.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Seek opportunities to sustain and expand recruitment, retention, and training of the ECE workforce by marketing and identifying new partners including other child care providers
- Implement work plan based on geographic scope including but not limited to: Fayette, Westmoreland, Indiana, Clearfield, and Armstrong counties
- Develop a deep understanding of the ECE apprenticeship model including funding sources and Institutions of Higher Education (IHE)
- Advocate for ECE apprenticeship in the region
- Recruit child care programs for participation in professional development and ECE apprenticeship
- Work with child care employers to recruit apprentices
- Work with child care directors/owners to recruit coaches and journey workers
- Oversee scheduling of cohorts
- Ensure mentoring and coaching components are implemented in an intentional way
- Assist students with selecting the correct credential and IHE
- Support ECE apprentices throughout program
- Host open zoom for employers, coaches and apprentices
- Work with current Workforce Coordinator to coordinate and oversee required coaches training
- Host/attend employer meetings
- Attend trainings and other meetings as requested by funding sources and IHE’s
- Ensure apprentices apply for TEACH funding for wraparound support and maintain TEACH paperwork for all employees if applicable
- Assist employees with FASFA and PELL grants
- Present to CTCs, high schools, workforce, and community groups
- Complete daily and monthly report of activities
- Complete and submit all required documents and reports to funding sources
- Maintain open communication and positive relationships with funding sources and partners
- Assist other workforce coordinator as needed
- Complete FA/CPR Instructor training and hold at least one CPR class per month to certify staff in outlined counties
