Ignite Education Solutions is hiring a Paraprofessional to work in a school setting.

What are the hours like?

  • Hours are based on school district schedules.

What are the duties and responsibilities?

Classroom Support:

  • Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
  • Provide support to students during classroom instruction, small group activities, and independent work.

Student Assistance:

  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts and provide additional instruction.
  • Assist students with assignments, projects, and homework as directed by the teacher.

Behavioral Support:

  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment by reinforcing classroom rules and expectations.
  • Assist in managing student behavior and implementing behavior management strategies.

Student Supervision:

  • Monitor students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students in all settings.

Instructional Materials Preparation:

  • Assist in preparing instructional materials, such as worksheets, visual aids, and learning resources.
  • Set up and organize materials for classroom activities and projects.

Technology Assistance:

  • Assist students with the use of educational technology and digital tools.
  • Support teachers in integrating technology into lesson plans and activities.

Data Collection:

  • Assist in collecting and recording student data, such as attendance, grades, and assessment results.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the teacher or school.

Communication:

  • Communicate regularly with teachers, and other school staff regarding student progress and concerns.
  • Relay important information between home and school as needed.

Professional Development:

  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Stay informed about best practices in education and special education.

Qualifications

What do you bring?

  • High school diploma is the minimum education requirement.
  • Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
  • Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with special needs or disabilities is preferred.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively with a team, and adapt to changing situations.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements related to student information.
