The Learning Lamp is hiring a Full-Time Marketing and Communications Coordinator.

 

Position Purpose

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator for Shared Services and Best Day Ever is essential in marketing Best Day Ever lesson plans and content for distribution through various websites. It is a critical function that is essential to meeting the mission of “engaging all children in the support they need to succeed.” The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Communications/Development Department, Executive Director, and CEO to carry out all the parts of Shared Services initiatives. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is also responsible for working with other child care providers and shared services members to assist them in determining and meeting their needs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Website, Social Media Content Development & Marketing
  • Create and maintain social media platforms for Early Childhood Alleghenies Shared Services Alliance and Best Day Ever! lesson planning resource
  • Gather and post content, including text, videos, and images to promote and grow shared services membership in a manner consistent with The Learning Lamp/Hub’s brand and social media strategy
  • Schedule social media posts for Shared Services and Best Day Ever! and follow up with the appropriate program staff on inquiries for more information
  • Oversee Early Childhood Alleghenies website and perform updates using WordPress, as needed, with support from TLL’s Director of Communications, Communications Assistant, and Prime Design Solutions
  • Work with Project Manager to align social media posts with updated content on the Best Day Ever! website
  • Work with CEO, Executive Director, Project Manager, and Development team to map out and execute marketing strategy/campaign for national rollout of Best Day Ever! as a sustainable revenue source for Shared Services
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of Best Day Ever! market trends, sales, free use of materials across PA, customer feedback, untapped markets, and opportunities for growth in partnership with Project Manager, CEO and Development Team
  • Work with Director of Communications, Director of Development, and Director of Community Outreach to launch second wave of “I Love My Job” multi-media messaging campaign
  • Work with Director of Communications to create marketing and promotional materials for all Shared Services components and events to increase membership and participation

 

Shared Services Development & Communications

  • Develop and execute activities as outlined in the Shared Services Logic Model, research-based framework, and specific grant(s) to achieve program goals
  • Explore and implement new offerings such as group purchasing of goods and services and the possibility of discounted group insurance for Shared Services members
  • Assist Shared Services Support Specialist in follow-up communications with Shared Services members by phone, email, in-person visits, etc. to gauge satisfaction with services, collect follow-up data on services such as staff recruitment and hiring as a result of Shared Services employment posts, and solicit recommendations for improvements or additional offerings
  • Create/implement new forum to foster greater two-way communication, member involvement, and input from Shared Services members (focus groups, quarterly meetings, etc.)
  • Survey members to document/update enrollment trends and staffing shortages, and conduct wages and tuition studies, as assigned, for research and grant purposes to advance Shared Services work
  • Gather content and draft monthly email blasts/newsletters to spotlight Shared Services success stories and testimonials, profile members, and highlight offerings (degrees for free, professional development, fundraising, staff recruitment, and other emerging offerings)
  • Assist Director of Community Outreach and Grant Assistant with completion of grant applications and grant reports, as requested
  • Assist with data collection and analysis in collaboration with Workforce Coordinators, Project Manager, ECMHCs, Shared Services Support Specialist, Grant Assistant, and/or Director of Community Outreach for grant-seeking and grant-reporting purposes
  • Assist the Shared Services Support Specialist with completion of monthly reports, as needed, and work with TLL Executive Director to compile Shared Services summary for bimonthly reports to TLL Board of Directors
  • Attend bi-monthly meetings and report on progress, current tasks, outcomes, and needs in the field
  • Work with CEO, CFO, Director of Development, and Director of Community Outreach on long-term sustainability of Shared Services program

Best Day Ever

  • Work with Project Manager on marketing plan and expansion of Best Day Ever distribution
  • Present to organization interested in using Best Day Ever!
  • Work with CEO, Executive Director, Director of Communications, Development Director, Project Manager, CFO, PDE, and PDO to provide supports, as necessary, to advance next steps in development of Best Day Ever!

General Administrative Functions

  • Answer phones and provide quality customer service
  • Work with continuous attention to details in composing, typing and proofreading documents
  • Provide support to the Pre-Apprenticeship Program Manager on an as needed basis
  • Participate in ongoing professional development
  • Assist with distribution of promotional materials
  • Attend meetings and other relevant meetings as requested
  • Regular attendance
  • Represent agency at community events
  • Build and maintain relationships with community members and donors  
  • Other items as requested by the Executive Director of The Learning Lamp

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Marketing/Communications, or related field
  • Administrative experience in a professional setting (preferred, but not required)
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
