Summary
As a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will oversee the full life-cycle recruitment for your designated business area including recruiting, screening, and recommending placement of staff by using creative sourcing methods (internal and external) for entry-level to senior level positions; oversight of new employee onboarding process; partnering with hiring departments on matters of recruitment and workforce planning. You will be responsible for meeting human resource strategic objectives while ensuring a positive candidate experience for incoming talent. Serve as an expert-level consultant to management on human resource-related issues and communicate proactively in the development of integrated solutions. Additionally, you will formulate and maintain partnerships across universities, colleges, and other professional affiliations and deliver ongoing recruitment strategies while meeting the objectives and goals of Birch Family Services’ strategic plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with the Human Resources and Talent Acquisition Leadership on strategic recruitment and Human Resources initiatives.
- Screen resumes, interview candidates (by phone or in person), administer appropriate assessments and reference/background checks, make recommendations for hire (or not hire), and deliver employment offers for both exempt and nonexempt position openings (Onboarding).
- Serve as an expert in recruiting candidates (including but not limited to Direct Support Professionals, Residential Managers, Nurses (RN/LPN), Teacher Assistants, Teachers, Curriculum Coordinators, and Principals) within Birch’s network of service sites.
- Use traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, sourcing platforms, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.
- Assist in advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
- Manage internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring managers, transfer offer letters, etc.
- Develop and maintain an excellent relationship with internal and external clients to ensure the achievement of staffing goals.
- Work with hiring managers of all agency departments to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance.
- Manage current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Maintain memberships, partnerships, and affiliations with trade/professional organizations related to the industry.
- Research, analyze, prepare, and present hiring statistics.
- Maintain records on recruiting activities as required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Our TA team works on a hybrid schedule of 2 days on site and 3 days remote. Flexibility in work schedule will be required to accommodate recruitment functions and meetings as assigned.
Travel
This position requires up to 50% travel. Most travel will be within the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, and CT)
