Purpose of Job:
The purpose of this position is to improve the overall health of the communities we serve by overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy ensuring federal and state laws are being followed and medications is being prepared efficiently and accurately for patient use

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily activities of the pharmacy department to ensure safe delivery of medications
  • Ensures pharmacy is complying with all State and Federal Laws and Regulations and performs annual self-inspection of the pharmacy per (WAC 246-869-190)
  • Ensures growth and profitability of the Pharmacy Department for respective location.
  • Handles and resolves customer issues, complaints, and concerns prior to escalating them to the quality department
  • Responsible for managing inventory and ensuring inventory related functions are completed including but not limited to cycle counts, 10 day returns and proper disposal of outdated medications.
  • Reviews and authorizes prescriptions with delegated prescriptive authority under state approved Collaborative Drug Therapy Agreements.
  • Maintains established procedures of quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and HIPAA.
  • Responsible for leading, managing, and professional growth and development of pharmacy staff in areas pertaining to pharmacy.
  • Maintains knowledge on rule presented by HRSA to maintain the integrity of the 340B Drug Pricing Program
  • Ensures pharmacies are properly staffed and PTO is approved for ancillary pharmacy personnel.
  • Performs essential pharmacist duties
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Travel may be required.

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:
Education/Experience: RPH or PharmD from accredited school of pharmacy. Current valid licensure in the state of Washington required. Minimum 3 years of pharmacy experience preferred. Knowledge of 340B Drug Discount Program preferred.

Skills: Innovative, analytical and have strong business acumen required. Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills required. Computer skills required.

Physical Demands:
Ancillary pharmacy staff are required to stand, sit, and be mobile 1/3rd to 2/3rds of the time. They are required to use hands to finger, handle or feel over 2/3rds of the time; while reaching with hands and arms occurs 1/3rd of the day. Climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching occurs less than 1/3rd of the time. Communicating by talking/ hearing occurs over 2/3rds of the day. Lifting up to 10 lbs. occurs occasionally, while 25-50 lbs. occurs infrequently.
