Job Title: System Administrator

The System Administrator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of the organization’s enterprise business systems. This position is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of mission-critical applications and infrastructure that support core business functions. This role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, including business units, IT teams, and end users—to deliver robust system support and continuous improvement.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
This person must understand software configuration, setup, and maintenance. They should also be able to document business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement systems to support those processes. This individual will have experience engaging and supporting stakeholders.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as the primary administrator for enterprise-level systems such as Ellucian Colleague, Technolutions Slate, Envision Argos, and other integrated platforms.

Manage system configurations, user access, permissions, and security protocols to ensure operational integrity and compliance.

Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions that enhance system functionality.

Develop and maintain documentation including SOPs, system workflows, and technical guides.

Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with institutional standards.

Provide training and support to end users, promoting effective use of enterprise systems.

Stay informed on emerging technologies and recommend improvements aligned with organizational goals.

Participate in strategic planning and project management for IT initiatives.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Administer additional platforms such as Canvas, DocFinity, WordPress, Odyssey, and CBoard.

Leverage experience in higher education IT environments to align systems with institutional needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience administering enterprise systems in a higher education or similar environment.

Hands-on experience with Ellucian Colleague, Technolutions Slate, and reporting tools such as Envision Argos.

Strong understanding of business process flows and enterprise system architecture.

Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
