Description

The Grants Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the grants program at the Atlanta Humane Society. With a strong focus on project management and data tracking, this position ensures that all grant objectives are executed according to established grant agreements. Collaborating with the Marketing, Community Initiatives, and Finance teams, the coordinator will maintain up-to-date records in Salesforce and support the Grants Manager by providing comprehensive, data-driven tracking on each grant.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in drafting, editing, and submitting grant applications
  • Identify and research potential grant opportunities that align with organizational priorities
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to gather necessary information and data
  • Oversee the entire grant lifecycle to ensure objectives are met in accordance with grant agreements
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables for each grant
  • Monitor progress and coordinate with internal teams to address any issues that could affect grant compliance
  • Maintain and update all grant-related activities in Salesforce with accurate data tracking
  • Compile and analyze data to generate periodic reports for the Grants Manager, ensuring clear visibility on grant performance and compliance
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for grantors, ensuring timely and clear communication regarding grant progress and requirements
  • Work closely with the Marketing, Community Initiatives, and finance teams to align objectives and share critical updates
  • Organize and maintain comprehensive records of grant files, correspondence, and documentation
  • Support the creation of fundraising collateral, including proposals, presentations, and reports for both internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in grant writing, project management, fundraising, or nonprofit administration
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM, particularly for data management and reporting
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to develop and maintain detailed project plans and track progress against milestones
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across diverse teams
  • Familiarity with generating reports, summaries, and presentation materials based on project data
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information
  • Ability to perform occasional physical tasks, including walking, standing, bending, and stooping, and manage interactions with animals
