Description

Overall Function:  Serve as the Division Ambulance and Support Vehicle Mechanic for the Primary Divisional location(s).  The EMS Fleet Mechanic will also serve as the company’s primary source of oversight and knowledge of all company vehicle preventive maintenance compliance and service/repair related topics.

Primary Expectations

  1. Working with other Division/Area mechanics and Division Managers, ensure all vehicle maintain files in the company’s tracking system are accurate, complete and update-to-date for each vehicle (ambulances, first responder, and administrative vehicles for all Amerimed and affiliated companies.
  2. Through coordination of other Division/Area vehicle mechanics, oversee and manage all preventative maintenance schedules and services for all vehicles and provide a plan and schedule ensuring routine maintenance is completed (according to manufacturer specifications and recommendations) appropriately for the following (plus other components as required to ensure safe and efficient operational conditions):
    1. Oil Changes                                        e.   Brakes
    2. Drive-train/transmissions                    f.   Wiper Blades
    3. Spark plugs / tune-ups                        g.   Fluids
    4. Lights and Electrical Systems            h.   Tires
  3. Oversee and ensure VIP agreements are in place for all Divisions with all maintenance and repair vendors.  Ensure current primary VIP service providers are known for each division.  Report non-VIP vendor services to the Support Services Manager and work with local Division Managers to ensure qualified VIP vendors are in place as needed.
  4. Through the company’s tracking system, conduct regular audits of maintenance services and repairs to ensure services performed were required, sensible, and within time and cost expectations.
  5. Towing/Vehicle Transfers
    1. Perform regular audits to ensure all towing/vehicle transfers are justified and within reasonable cost expectations.
  6. Compliance: Ensure all state-specific maintenance inspections and/or repairs required for safe operations are performed as needed.
  7. Parts Inventory: Ensure each company shop has on-hand high-use parts and supplies to ensure shortest possible down-time for service/repairs.  Maintain inventory control of parts/supplies at all company shops to ensure no leakage.

    1. ASE Certifications (preferred)
  9. Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
