Overview: One Inc is looking for a Product Manager to determine strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for its market-leading Digital Payments Platform. In this role, you will focus on the One Inc payment gateway, including:
- Integrations with banks, processors, and other payment facilitation service providers.
- Fund flow modeling for how One Inc will orchestrate fund movement to meet the needs of our customers.
- Transactional reporting and settings configurations for internal and external accounting and payment operations users.
In this role, you will act as the connective tissue across the entire organization – senior leadership, Engineering, Sales, Services, Finance, and Product Marketing. You will be responsible for bringing the voice-of-the-market into the business – customer needs, emerging trends in payments, banking, and financial technology, and the internal payment operations needs. In addition to deeply understanding market and operational needs—at the technical product feature level—you will have your finger on the pulse of the payments industry and insurance industry trends, and you will track what top competitors are doing to innovate in their products. You will synthesize this information to find opportunities for innovation and prioritize market needs and roadmap direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire product life cycle, including determining product features required for current customers and prospects. Work cross-functionally as a leader of product roadmap prioritization.
- Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers, prospects, analysts, and others.
- Write the business plan for your product based on market opportunity and problems. Determine target markets, including market segments and sizes. Plan will include user personas, revenue potential, competitive threats, use case scenarios, and required timing.
- Analyze market trends and summarize these to other departments, and incorporate insights gained from the analysis into product feature requirements.
- Own competitive analysis at the deep technical product feature level. Identify competitive shortcomings that your product needs to address. Be the go-to resource for product marketing as they create messaging and sales materials that take advantage of competitive product feature strengths and are informed by any weaknesses.
- Work with product marketing to provide them understanding of the market opportunity, competitive advantages, user personas, product benefits, and roadmap futures so they can build our go-to-market assets and plans.
- Conduct win/loss analyses to identify product and feature flaws that must be addressed.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience making and landing recommendations to executives.
- Experience in and knowledge of market research techniques.
- A passion for bringing objective evidence to every discussion—not satisfied to argue product futures in a vacuum without external data and insights.
- The ability to interact with integrators and 3rd party service providers.
Education & Experience:
- Preferred candidates will have experience in one or more of: card issuing, merchant services, account-to-account transfers, consumer payments, B2B payments, financial technology, financial services.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or another related discipline, or relevant experience.
- 3+ years of software product management experience.
- English fluency at native level.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time to customer and other locations in the United States.
