Candidates MUST have at least one of the below required qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in special education AND two (2) year's classroom experience as a lead teacher OR
Bachelor's Degree must be in ONE of the following majors:
- Elementary Education
- Nursery to 6th Grade Elementary Education
- Special Education
- Child Psychology
- Child Development
- General Education
 - Early Childhood Education
2. New York State Education Department Special Education Teacher certification OR
3. Enrolled in a Master's program for Early Childhood Special Education (Educational Plan)
Responsibilities and Duties, including but not limited to:
- Support and work collaboratively with classroom staff to address the educational needs of our students
- Assist students with daily activities and schedule
- Prepare and implement lesson plans
- Help foster an atmosphere conducive to learning
- Assist in providing a safe and nurturing environment for our students
- Prepare written educational progress reports as required
- Attend CPSE reviews as required
- Participate in development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
