Purpose: Under the direction of the Director of KidsThrive and in conjunction with the KidsThrive team, lead volunteers to partner with parents to disciple K-2nd grade kids to follow Jesus and flourish in his Kingdom. Additionally, write/adapt curriculum, plan and execute large group times, and provide supervision, support, and care of Perimeter’s K-2nd grade discipleship ministry.
Responsibilities:
- Interview and onboard K-2nd grade KidsThrive volunteers, ensuring that appropriate team member follows up with volunteers to complete Ministry Safe serving requirements.
- Prayerfully form K-2nd Grade KidsThrive groups, considering all leader and parent requests, and assign classrooms.
- Collaborate with GloryKids ministry to determine best fit and accommodations for children with special needs.
- Assist and manage volunteer training and orientation as directed.
- Create weekly TEAMS planners for both the kindergarten groups and 1st-2nd grade groups using selected curriculum.
- Prepare and change out weekly planners, items, and activities corresponding to the lesson in leader bins.
- Prepare Got Truth cart for Sunday and all verse, catechism, and books of the Bible prizes and incentives.
- Track volunteer birthdays and special occasions and send cards/give gifts.
- Form schedules and send reminder emails and texts to all K-2nd grade leaders, large group teachers, worship leaders, and tech booth volunteers.
- Create weekly PowerPoint templates for large group teachers to build their lessons with and provide all necessary curriculum content to large group teachers two weeks in advance of their teaching date.
- Manage Planning Center and weekly Midtown large group content.
- Prepare ProPresenter presentation for weekly Midtown large group.
- Assist in purchasing and preparing leader refreshments and coffee for Sunday mornings.
- Set up sound equipment and tech board for Sunday mornings.
- Set up check-in system computers.
- Prepare rooms for Sunday use and ensure classrooms are set-up and materials/supplies are available prior to the start of service.
- Welcome and assist families and children.
- Welcome and provide guidance, teaching tips, help with classroom management, relational/spiritual care and encouragement to K-2nd grade KidsThrive volunteers.
- Provide supervision of K-2nd grade KidsThrive volunteers to ensure that proper room, safety, Ministry Safe policies, check-in and check-out procedures are followed.
- Clean up and break down rooms as required after service.
- Provide ongoing training and support to leaders, large group teachers, worship leaders, and tech booth volunteers.
- Assist Director of KidsThrive in planning for and executing the Fifth Grade Retreat yearly.
- Assist Director of KidsThrive and other church staff members in planning for and executing the quarterly Children’s Membership classes.
- Manage and produce content for the KidsThrive social media accounts to encourage, inform, and challenge parents.
- Attend weekly staff prayer and staff development opportunities.
- Attend staff meetings as directed.
- Assist in other duties as directed.
