What do I need to apply?
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s from an accredited university or related field of study, preferred. 3+ years of verified experience working in homeless services can override the education requirement. All applicants must have 2+ years’ experience providing management services in social services or in other related fields.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English required. Multi-lingual and Spanish proficiency preferred.
- First Aid/CPR Certification and Food Handler’s Certificate (have upon hire or within 60 days of hire)
- F-80 Fire Safety Coordinator certification, required (or ability to obtain F80 certification within 30 days of hire)
- Computer Skills: Basic competency in MS Windows, MS Office, and on the Internet.
- Physical Performance: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs), tour property, walk distances, and climb stairs (up to 3-4 flights).
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls.
- Other Skills: Ability to work independently or as part of a team, be highly organized, assume responsibility, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details. Must be even-tempered, have good negotiation skills, and the ability to meet unexpected deadlines. Effective time management skills.
