Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Performance Division of Prefix Corporation. This position will allow the right candidate to work at our corporate headquarters in Rochester Hills.

Essential Duties:

  • Complete vehicle maintenance services (i.e. brake services, vehicle inspections, suspension/steering services, and fluid services).
  • Diagnose and/or repair Dodge Vipers, and other vehicles as needed.
  • Removing/installation of engines, transmissions
  • Follow written/verbal work instructions
  • Good work ethic, positive attitude
  • Light fabrication work using band saws, welders, grinders, drill press
  • , with an enthusiastic attitude when working with our clients is paramount.
  • Your work will mainly occur on performance Viper builds, engine swaps and other exciting resto-mod and performance enhancement projects.
  • Comply with Health and Safety policies:
    • Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with MIOSHA Occupational Safety and Health Act regulations.
    • Ensure the Prefix safety rules are applied and adhered to
    • Be responsible for the work area to ensure a clean and safe work environment
  • This position will foster an environment that is indicative of Prefix’s Mission and Core Values.
  • This position will identify and apply suitable team dynamics, interpersonal relationship and leadership techniques

The position may require additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in, but not limited to, 12V Electrical diagnosis and Repair, Mechanical, Engine and Transmission diagnoses in repair.
  • General automotive knowledge

Communication Skills

Ability to read, and communicate with staff/team members

Analytical Skills

Ability to work with general shop mathematics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Problem Solving Skills

Ability to define and diagnose problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to execute solutions.

Education / Skill / Experience Qualifications

Associates or vocational degree or equivalent and 3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of the three.
