Position Summary:
The Endocrinologist is a member of the interdisciplinary health care team which functions to meet the objectives of the programs in Northeast Community Clinic. The Endocrinologist will be responsible for providing complete clinical care for all patients under the direction of the Medical Director and by written protocols. Endocrinologist works in conjunction with the Medical Director in implementing and maintaining quality care programs.
Schedule:
Flexible, may require some evening and weekends
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Diagnose and medically manage all endocrine disorders.
Conduct thorough assessments through medical, social, and developmental histories, appropriate tests, and physical examinations.
Perform all appropriate endocrinology diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Provide consultory guidance and appropriate reports to authorized requesting healthcare providers Complete documentation and billing in a timely fashion.
Triage all emergent and urgent patients with endocrine disorders.
Consult with and refer patients to a specialist when appropriate.
Comply with NECC’s P&Ps, local, state, and federal regulations as well as program guidelines and regulation such as CHDP, Managed Care organizations, health plans, and other programs.
Provide mid-level supervision to Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners with an authorized scope of services in Endocrinology.
Participation in Northeast Community Clinic’s Continuing Quality Improvement (CQI) program.
Provide case management with other health care team members.
Provide consultations to other Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and other members of the NECC healthcare team.
Maintain a positive working relationship with staff.
Other duties as designated by the Medical Director or Executive Director.
