Laser Operator DAY SHIFT

$1,500 Retention Bonus and 80 Hours of Paid Time Off after first 90 days of employment

JOB SUMMARY

Set up raw materials, programs, and machine parameters to exact specifications for the cutting operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively observe and promote BWise safety standards
  • Obtain specifications for operation from work orders.
  • Perform typical laser cutting operations.
  • Select proper cutting programs, and proper fixtures.
  • Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point.
  • Set up proper tooling for operation.
  • Organize work area before and after parts are processed, stacking completed parts properly on pallet to eliminate double handling and work efficiently.
  • Communicates with management, to resolve order quantity discrepancies and quality issues.
  • Make continuous quality checks to ensure parts are cut to exact specifications.
  • Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine within capabilities. Reports all machine malfunctions to Management.
  • Maintains a clean and tidy work area.
  • Other duties, as assigned by Leadership.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be capable of standing for entire shift and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to demonstrate full range of motion for reaching, bending, kneeling and stooping.
  • Will be exposed to extreme heat and cold depending on weather.
  • Subject to dirt, dust, oil, welding fumes, electric shock, bright lights, UV radiation, burns, traffic hazards, and high noise levels in the workplace.

PPE REQUIREMENTS

  • Steel-toed shoes or composite shoes
  • Safety glasses
  • Earplugs
  • Gloves when handling any material
  • Grinding Shield when cleaning parts

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to read, write, count, communicate by various channels.
  • Must have appropriate high school, vocational-technology school, or trade school training and/or demonstrated ability/expertise from on-the-job training from previous employment.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Must be able to interpret drawings and sketches, read and understand manuals/specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations and set up requirements
