Scott Family Amazeum Overview
The Scott Family Amazeum is a hands-on, interactive museum in Northwest Arkansas and recognized as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. We create a fun environment where risk taking, imagining, problem solving, discovery, collaboration, and exploration bring children and adults together to learn and grow.
Amazeum Mission: To engage the imagination of children and their families through interactive exhibits, programs, and resources while creating an excitement for lifelong learning and the enrichment of lives.
Through experiences with the Amazeum, individuals and the community are engaged in building relationships and developing identities as creative, curious, and innovative shapers for the region. Learning at the Amazeum is an active, playful exploration that inspires curiosity. It is rooted in inquiry-based discovery and involves an element of risk. Hands-on learning opportunities allow guests to exercise critical thinking in the context of play.
The Amazeum facility includes approximately 50,000 square feet of indoor space and one acre of outdoor exhibition and activity space. The museum is located at the intersection of Museum Way and J Street in Bentonville, AR.
Position Summary
The Retail Store Associate at the Scott Family Amazeum will be outgoing, flexible and detail-oriented, able to greet guests and readily assist them in the museum store, and other areas as needed. This team member should have the ability to take the initiative and prioritize multiple competing tasks; demonstrate excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions
- Greet and assist all museum guests; effectively handle questions, sales, service, and payment for all products.
- Actively explore and learn about merchandise carried in the store, and be readily available to share product information with guests and other team members.
- Engage guests by demonstrating products and explaining their features and benefits.
- Assist in merchandising product and aligning store merchandise with special programming and exhibits in the museum.
- Acquire and demonstrate knowledgeable about the museum, its history, programs, and special events, and effectively communicate this information to guests.
- Assist guests using kiosks; troubleshoot technical issues and report unresolved issues to lead staff.
- Receive products and manage inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely restocking.
- Perform back-of-house administrative support, including routine office tasks (e.g., separating coupons, filing, copying, etc.).
- Represent the Amazeum in a professional manner at all times, including adherence to department standards.
- Participate in product demonstrations to enhance guest engagement and drive sales.
- Willingness to cross-train in Museum Store Functions, Birthday Celebrations, and Admissions.
