Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Cook, you'll play a vital role in our mission by:

• Following an individual schedule provided by the Director.
• Assisting the Cook in meal preparation when needed.
• Maintaining the kitchen and pantry in a neat and orderly manner.
• Making local food purchases as required.
• Ensuring dishes and utensils are washed according to sanitary practices.
• Participating in meetings, Staff Development workshops/training, and special events.
• Keeping kitchen equipment in excellent working order and requesting repairs when necessary.
• Cultivating positive working relationships with your supervisor and co-workers.
• Collaborating with the director in completing an annual self-evaluation.
• Completing all written documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Performing other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

• Experience in working with food preparation and general cleaning.
• NYC Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to obtain one

• Competitive Salary: Under DC 37 Local 95, salaries, and benefits are based upon scale.
• Work-Life Balance: 35 hours per week.
