About Us: Block Institute is dedicated to providing exceptional support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Our Adult Day Program focuses on promoting independence, social skills, and community integration for the individuals we serve. 

Position Overview: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Adult Day Program. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities during their daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their well-being. 

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM 

Starting Salary: 

  • DSP 1: $16.00/hour (No experience, must maintain CPR certification, missing either driver's license or SCIP) 

  • DSP 2: $17.00/hour (With valid driver's license, CPR, and SCIP certifications) 

  • DSP 3: $18.50/hour (With valid driver's license, CPR, SCIP, and AMAP certifications)

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist individuals with goals including independent living activities, personal care, meal preparation, academics and work readiness. 

  • Support individuals in participating in community activities and recreational outings. 

  • Implement individualized service plans and behavioral support plans. 

  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes. 

  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes independence and self-esteem. 

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of people supported at all times. 

 

Job Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 

  • No experience necessary – we provide the necessary training. 

  • DSP 1: Must maintain CPR certification. 

  • DSP 2: Valid driver's license, CPR, and SCIP certifications (training provided by the agency). 

  • DSP 3: Valid driver's license, CPR, SCIP, and AMAP certifications. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature. 

  • Ability to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM. 

  • Fully Vaccinated for COVID-19 required
