CORE JOB SUMMARY                                                                                                                        

The Clinical Informatics Specialist will serve as the bridge between clinical teams and technology solutions, ensuring that systems effectively support patient care and operational efficiency. This role will not only focus on implementing and optimizing clinical systems but will also be responsible for delivering training and education to end users. The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare experience, a deep understanding of clinical workflows, and the ability to translate complex technology into practical solutions for caregivers and staff.

 

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                          

  1. Collaborate with developers and vendors to troubleshoot and optimize API performance.
  2. Ensure secure and compliant data flow across integrated platforms.
  3. AI Tools & Innovation
  4. Assist in the deployment and support of AI-powered tools for clinical decision support, analytics, and automation.
  5. Monitor performance and resource usage of AI applications.
  6. Partner with data teams to ensure infrastructure readiness for AI workloads.
  7. Support & Collaboration
  8. Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated IT issues.
  9. Work closely with clinical, reporting, and technology teams to support EHR systems and other healthcare applications.
  10. Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Qualifications

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                         

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).


Certification and Licensing:

Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or RHCSA.


Experience:

3+ years of experience in system administration, preferably in a healthcare or regulated environment.


Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, SQL, Linux, Active Directory, and cloud platforms.
  • Experience with patch management tools (e.g., WSUS, SCCM, PDQ Deploy).
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and integration platforms.
  • Understanding of AI tools and infrastructure requirements (e.g., GPU workloads, containerization).
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR).
