Summary of Job Responsibilities:


The primary role of the Training Manager will be to develop, implement, and manage our training programs, ensuring our employees acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their roles. This critical role is integral to enhancing our team's performance, fostering professional growth, and ultimately contributing to our company's sustained success. As a Training Manager, you will be responsible for designing and delivering comprehensive training initiatives for our internal teams and in collaboration with external partners when necessary. This includes monitoring their effectiveness and continuously refining our training strategies to align with our evolving organizational objectives and leverage insights from internal and external expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee training compliance to ensure all Clayton staff meet program quality expectations.
  • Train, coach, and mentor Clayton staff to meet program quality expectations.
  • Assist in planning and organizing overall training events such as conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  • Works to increase program offerings and partnerships.
  • In collaboration with the Senior Program Manager of Camp & Enrichment, plan, organize, promote, and lead summer camp training.
  • In collaboration with the Enrichment Manager, plan training for curriculum implementation for all sites.
  • Help develop and manage the training budget alongside the Associate Director of Programs.
  • Identify training needs through assessments, feedback, and performance reviews.
  • Create engaging and relevant training content that aligns with Clayton’s objectives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance training content continually.
  • Ensure training programs comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Adapt training delivery to different learning styles and preferences.
  • Ensure effective communication and engagement during training sessions.
  • Implement methods to assess the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Collect feedback from participants and stakeholders to make continuous improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for ongoing learning and professional growth.
  • Works alongside the Operations Program Coordinator to ensure accurate records of training activities, participant progress, evaluations, and staff files.
  • Organize agency-wide special events as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:

  • Requires daily standing, sitting, bending and stooping
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
  • Requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Requires the ability to physically move about the camp space and fieldtrip venues
  • Requires the ability to read text and information and comprehend instructions and manuals

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to work flexible schedules when necessary, and travel to locations on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Complete 30+ hours of paid training/professional development, occasionally out of the area
  • Available to work Saturdays and/or evenings

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk
  • Risk of exposure to childhood diseases
  • Attendance at fieldtrips and waterparks with various environmental conditions, heat and weather

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong communication, public relations and interpersonal skills and respect for diversity.
  • Strong leadership skills including planning and organizing, problem-solving, and supervisory and staff training skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of computer proficiency using Microsoft Office
  • General knowledge of local school districts, a plus
  • Curriculum and enrichment club creation, facilitation and management experience.
  • Ability to create, design and lead a variety of activities for all ages with primary emphasis on preschool and school age participants.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, overnights and weekends.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age; At least 4 years of experience in out of school time, recreation or educational setting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in recreation, education, curriculum and instruction or related field strongly preferred
  • Supervisory experience of small teams, as well as program management
  • Experience in fiscal/budget management, data reporting, and management information systems
  • Demonstrated competence in program development, marketing, implementation, and evaluation
